The State of the Symphony (33 Days To Go)

June 8, 2015

Holy cow.

We have a month left to go.

Okay, now that I’m back from an hour in the fetal position, we go boldly forth. Let’s talk about some things.

We didn’t make our Kickstarter goal. So what does that mean? Well, only that we’re broke. We didn’t fail. It’s not over. We’re not dead yet.

We just didn’t reach our Kickstarter goal.

So, we are broke. That’s not good. But things, I always find, seem to work out. In honor of Jurassic World’s premiere this week, I quote the great Dr. Ian Malcolm.

We’ve still got a ways to go and a lot to do in 33 days. We have to finish contacting all of the stores we plan to visit, find a van, finish planning with our cameraman and getting the gear ready to go, find a van, securing the gear we’re borrowing (mostly GoPros), buy a hard drive, find a van find a van a van

Oh hey this might be a good time to mention that we’re on the hunt for a van. If you know what we can do about that, please let us know. Thanks.

I guess what I’m trying to say here is that our father didn’t raise us to be quitters. I know that sounds super cliche, but it is the truth. Sure things didn’t go the way we planned. As I find in this life, it rarely will. Just because I’ve worked so hard at this all, it doesn’t change the fact that variables can go either way. When that variable was crowdsourcing $10,000, we should have known better.

That doesn’t mean we’re doing this all on our own. If you’ve got some change, a few bucks, anything you’re willing to donate; we’d appreciate it infinitely. You can use the donate link in the sidebar, or the badge at the top. If you want to learn more about what that money will go towards, check out our new Donate page.

I don’t quit. I don’t back down. When I want to make something happen, there is very little that will get in my way of it. Why make excuses when you can make a way?

I choose to find a way. If I don’t, life will.
